Today is our 5th wedding anniversary. Each year I personally like to think about the day’s events as they were happening back then. So, at this point 9:45 a.m. I think I was just finishing up at the hair salon and heading to the church for our 11 a.m. ceremony. It was a similar weather as it is TODAY….damp, rained the night before, cool in the air, but the sun was just coming out.

I’m nominating Meredith to choose….
Griffin is really beginning to get into imaginative play. I LOVE catching him do it and overhear him at play. He does it frequently with his bakugan but yesterday we were outside and he was building a “castle” with the rocks from the little tree. My inclination was to tell him no and put those rocks away but then I was fascinated with what he was going to do. I realize I so often don’t trust him because when he raised one rock over his head I freaked and screamed, “don’t throw that!” to which he replied, “I not. it’s how to make the castle.” It was all part of it. So, then once the castle was built he had to walk around the castle and avoid the mud (grass). It just melted my heart!
anyone else have any good little kid imagination stories…they just make me all gushy! ha.

Some Images from Sunday at Edgewater

Buffalo was great. The kids did fine on the car ride and slept well while there so I was happy. Griffin even ate well. Paisley ate even better….she had a slice of apple, piece of zucchini (big chunk), hunk of sausage, piece of corn on the cob, and part of a hamburger bun. She demolished it all without any teeth!!! haha. Kevin was amazed!!
I go back to work tomorrow. It’s been crazy with this much time off. I need to get my head back in the game. Summer is flying by and I have some to-do lists to accomplish. I feel like we’ll be planning P’s 1st birthday before we know it. Sheesh…
Today is a hot one. We met Nat and Mary early at the playground and had a couple hours of fun there. P is now napping and Griffin is hopefully heading there soon. I have been doing this muffin cup trick for getting Griffin to eat and it is working really well. I continue to give him things I know he’ll eat but he is actually eating them as opposed to refusing, demanding cookies or donuts, and then just being hell on wheels because he didn’t eat. I am also glad he is becoming less dependent (or we are) on the kefir smoothies. I don’t mind if he has 3/day but for awhile he was living on them 5-6/day because he wouldn’t eat much else.
So, Griffin loves his Uncle John. He loves him a lot. He just might love him too much after my experience yesterday
The man working on my grandmother’s condo came by to pick up some money. We were outside to meet him and I said to Griffin, “this man’s name is John, just like your Uncle John.” Well, immediately this made this John “good people” in Griffin’s book. He asked him to come inside with him, into his house, his friend John. Although John has a child (his is around Paisley’s age) he didn’t understand Griffin and told him, “it’s ok. I’m leaving in a second and then you can go back inside your house.”
So, a few moments later Griffin heads for the door, John walks to his car, and I proceed to follow Griffin into the house. THIS is where it gets ugly. He runs screaming after John, “my friend, my John. no go. come with me now, in my house.” Full on tantrum on the front lawn as JOhn looks back at me unsure whether to run or come try to help me (he drove away :)) 15 minutes and the tears were still flowing for John.
Guess there is just something in the name for him??? hahahha
The Norris Clan is adapting to a new schedule and one that I hope we can stick to for awhile. I am now working M/W/F and am home with the chillins T/TH. So far it is working out pretty well. Also, on M/W Lee picks them up and is with them alone (shudder-haha) for an hour or so before I get home from work. I really feel we are getting in the groove of this and so far our weekends have been a lot more “play” and less “work” since I can do a few things during the week to keep us on track.
Griffin is now 3 years old and as fiesty as ever. He is adjusting to his new daycare situation and only bringing home a few bad habits. (She has older kids so he is talking a lot about dragons, aliens, fighting, etc. but it’s all pretend I think).
Paisley is now 7 months old and growing as big as ever. Haha. She is a robust child but even her buddha belly is slowly starting to slim down. She started solids hardcare this past week and is moving ahead with that with gusto. So far she loves apricots, sweet potato, watermelon, and anything breadlike (just like her brother). She also is tolerant of bananas and likes avacados. I’m enjoying this part so much more this time because we are being very casual with it and just reading her cues.
Hope to be more active on here and hope other Norris family members will be as well (hello Lee?)
